Where to Stay in San Miguel
We are so thrilled that you'll be joining us in San Miguel de Allende! To make planning easier, we've gathered hotel recommendations in and around the historic center, with pricing, amenities, and walking distances so you can find the spot that fits you best.
We've arranged special wedding rates at a few properties — look for the discounted wedding rates section of this page.
Book early. Our wedding weekend falls on a Mexican holiday long weekend — Monday, March 15 is Benito Juárez Day, a national holiday — so San Miguel will be full. Wedding rates are subject to availability, and rooms across town go quickly on that weekend.
On walking. Times below are to the Jardín Principal, the main square. San Miguel is a walking city, but the cobblestones are charming and sometimes steep. A couple of the hotels here are a short drive from the center rather than a walk, and we've said so clearly.
Traveling as a group? A VRBO or Airbnb can be great value and gives everyone space to spread out.

A beautifully restored 19th-century building right in the heart of town, with just 19 rooms, a heated pool and hot tub tucked into the courtyard, and a rooftop with lovely views over the city. Small, personal, and about as central as it gets. Please note this is an adults-only hotel.

Not walkable — about a 10-minute drive to the Jardín
A striking, design-forward hotel built from local stone, with sweeping views over the San Miguel valley. A great choice if you'd like resort space, a pool, and Hilton Honors points. Albor sits above the city rather than in it, so plan on driving in — the hotel runs complimentary transportation within about a 5 km radius, which covers the historic center.

The first Marriott Bonvoy hotel in San Miguel, built around a central courtyard with a mirror-like infinity pool and a rooftop garden. Rosewood San Miguel de Allende

The Rosewood is classic San Miguel elegance — a grand colonial estate on five landscaped acres, and its famous Luna Rooftop Bar has what we think are the best sunset views in the city. Suites and larger residences are available as well. Stay three nights and the fourth is free. Airport transfers can be arranged through the hotel for a fee.

If you love modern design and a vibrant, artistic vibe, this is the place — a full urban resort in the middle of a colonial town, complete with a Forbes-rated spa and a great pool scene. It's also one of the more family-friendly options on this list. Airport transfers are available for a fee — contact the hotel at least 48 hours before you arrive.

For a peaceful and restorative escape, Amatte is a wellness-focused hotel perched on a hill just above the city, with panoramic views over San Miguel and the Allende dam. Serene, sophisticated, and every room includes two signature wellness experiences. Worth knowing: the walk down to town is lovely and the walk back is a real climb. Airport transfers are available from Querétaro, León, and Mexico City.

If you're dreaming of a classic, romantic hacienda-style stay, you'll love Casa Liza — a restored colonial estate with just 16 rooms scattered across private garden grounds, tucked away on a quiet street a few blocks from the center. Breakfast is made to order and served wherever you like, including in bed. The on-site spa offers massages and facials, and they'll do hair and makeup in your room, which may be useful come Saturday.

About 2 km out — free shuttle to the center
This hotel feels like a small private resort, with lush gardens, a large pool, and a proper spa — excellent value for the space you get. It sits outside the historic center, but a free shuttle runs to and from town every hour from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and it's only about a 10-minute drive. You'll want a taxi for late nights.

You genuinely cannot get more central than this. Crisol sits on the main square, directly across from the Parroquia, with 32 rooms behind a historic façade and a bright, Mediterranean-inspired interior. If your plan is to be out exploring from morning to night, this is the easiest home base in town. Airport transfers are available — call the hotel to confirm details.

5 minute walk to the Jardín
Beautiful colonial design with contemporary furnishings, and a rooftop terrace with sweeping views and a jacuzzi that all guests can use. The apartment-style layouts make this a great option if you want a little more room or a kitchen. Plenty of studio, 1-, and 2-bedroom options available.

Chic, high-design, small and personal
10–12 minute walk to the Jardín
This hotel delivers big style in a small, friendly package. We love the decor and the personal feel — a high-design experience at a very accessible price. If you're booking here, we'd steer you toward a suite which include private terraces with terrific views.
