Our Wedding

Lucia and Bill's love story began in the halls of the University of Michigan in 2019, where they found themselves sharing classes and running in similar circles. While the connection was there from the start, it took a little persistence on Bill's part—after asking Lucia out three times, she finally said yes on October 18th, 2019. Sometimes the best things are worth waiting for. What started as a college romance deepened in ways they never expected during the unprecedented spring of 2020. When the world shut down and everything became uncertain, they found certainty in each other. Bill spent a month in Arizona with Lucia's family that summer, which solidified something special between them. After graduation, they faced their biggest challenge yet: maintaining their relationship across the country. Lucia moved to Seattle while Bill headed to New York City. For a year, FaceTime calls, cross-country flights, and careful planning became part of everyday life. In the summer of 2022, Bill made the move to Seattle, closing the distance and opening the door to the next chapter together. Living in the same city again allowed their relationship to flourish in new ways as they built a life together, exploring the Pacific Northwest and growing stronger with each shared experience. All of this led them to Maui, where against the backdrop of paradise, they took the next step in their journey together. From college sweethearts to engaged couple, their story has been one of patience, persistence, and choosing each other through every chapter. They can't wait to celebrate this next adventure with all of you!

Schedule of Events

How to Get There

We are so excited to celebrate with you in San Miguel de Allende! Getting here is very manageable with a bit of planning. Start by choosing an airport, then see the options for getting from the airport to San Miguel.Your Airport Options at a GlanceQuerétaro (QRO): ~60-75 minutes by car to San Miguel. Best option.León / Bajío (BJX): ~90-100 minutes by car to San Miguel. Best option.Mexico City (MEX): ~3-4 hours by car to San Miguel. A good backup, but ground transportation costs more.

Where to Fly

Option 1 (Best): Fly Direct or One US Stop to Querétaro (QRO) or León (BJX)The easiest way to reach San Miguel is to fly directly (or with a US connection) into one of the two nearby airports. If you can find a direct or 1-stop flight into either, this is by far the simplest and most seamless option.Important notes- Flights to QRO and BJX from the US are limited. We recommend booking as early as possible to guarantee availability.- We recommend connecting through the U.S., not within Mexico. While some itineraries may route you through Mexico City before continuing to Querétaro, this requires clearing immigration and customs in Mexico City, collecting and re-checking your bags, and going back through security.- In most cases, this adds time and complexity without any real benefit. If you are connecting, aim for a U.S. connection into QRO or BJX.Option 2: Fly to Mexico City (MEX)If flights into QRO or BJX are limited or expensive, a great backup option is to fly directly into Mexico City (CDMX / MEX). It is ~3-4 hours by car to San Miguel. This option works especially well if:- You’re coming from a major U.S. city with nonstop service to Mexico City- You prefer more flight flexibility or better flight pricing (ground transportation from Mexico City costs more than from QRO or BJX; see Step 3)We recommend arranging a private transfer, shared shuttle, or bus rather than booking a connecting flight within Mexico.

Getting from the Airport to San Miguel

Jump to the section that matches the airport you’re flying into.If You’re Flying into QRO or BJXTaxi or Uber is the easiest way. Both are readily available at QRO and BJX and cost roughly $80-100 to San Miguel (~60-75 minutes from QRO, ~90-100 minutes from BJX).Prefer to book ahead? Private transfers and shared shuttles are also available from both airports.<a href="https://etisagto.somee.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">ETISAGTO</a> offers private cars (about $125 USD for up to 4 passengers) and vans for larger groups, and<a href="https://www.bajiogo.com/en" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">BajioGo</a> offers shared shuttles (about $34 USD per person, one way). Contact details are in the Mexico City section below. If You’re Flying into Mexico City (MEX)Ground transportation from Mexico City costs more and takes longer (~3-4 hours), so we recommend booking in advance. You have three options. Prices are one way and approximate, in USD.Private car: ~$365 per vehicle (up to 4 passengers). Larger vans available.Shared shuttle: ~$120 per person. Best for 1-2 travelers; a private car costs about the same or less per person for 3-4.Bus: ~$45-60 per person. The lowest-cost option.Private Transfer: ETISAGTOFor private transfers, we recommend <a href="https://etisagto.somee.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">ETISAGTO</a>, a local transportation service shared by our wedding planners. You can also submit your flight details to receive an individual transportation quote. ETISAGTO also serves QRO and BJX; contact them for rates from those airports. How to book: Online reservations for March 2027 may not be available until December 2026. If you’d like to book sooner, reach ETISAGTO directly:WhatsApp: +52 (442) 208-9918 or +52 (473) 756-0753Email: <a href="mailto:ventas@etisagto.com" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">ventas@etisagto.com</a>2027 rates: Mexico City (MEX) to San Miguel de AllendeRates are per vehicle, one way (not per person), so please remember to book your return trip to the airport as well.Car (up to 4 passengers): ~$365 USD ($6,700 MXN)Mini Van (up to 6): ~$435 USD ($8,000 MXN)Van (up to 11): ~$555 USD ($10,200 MXN)Big Van (up to 20): ~$840 USD ($15,500 MXN)Shared Shuttle: BajioGo<a href="https://www.bajiogo.com/en" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">BajioGo</a> is a local airport shuttle service. Where to Stay in San Miguel

We are so thrilled that you'll be joining us in San Miguel de Allende! To make planning easier, we've gathered hotel recommendations in and around the historic center, with pricing, amenities, and walking distances so you can find the spot that fits you best. We've arranged special wedding rates at a few properties — look for the discounted wedding rates section of this page.Book early. Our wedding weekend falls on a Mexican holiday long weekend — Monday, March 15 is Benito Juárez Day, a national holiday — so San Miguel will be full. Wedding rates are subject to availability, and rooms across town go quickly on that weekend. On walking. Times below are to the Jardín Principal, the main square. San Miguel is a walking city, but the cobblestones are charming and sometimes steep. A couple of the hotels here are a short drive from the center rather than a walk, and we've said so clearly.Traveling as a group? A VRBO or Airbnb can be great value and gives everyone space to spread out.Pack comfortable shoes.

WELCOME EVENT DRESS CODE - COCKTAIL / GARDEN

We encourage guests to wear ALL WHITE for the welcome event — yes, really. Think cocktail dresses, linen separates, light blazers, summer suits, and polished dress shoes. Aim for garden-cocktail: elegant but comfortable for an outdoor evening in San Miguel. You may want to bring a light layer for when the sun goes down.

WEDDING DRESS CODE - BLACK TIE OPTIONAL

We invite guests to dress in formal wedding attire—black tie optional. Suggested looks: tuxedos or dark suits (black, navy, gray) and floor-length gowns. San Miguel evenings can cool down, so consider bringing a light wrap or jacket.
